Starring: Ashton Kutcher, Katherine Heigl, Tom Selleck, Catherine O’Hara
A movie which features Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl in the lead roles cannot be too promising. It is one of those highly predictable, made with a standard Hollywood formula kind of movie. Spencer (Kutcher) is a hitman for hire who meets Jen (Heigl) in France by chance and the duo fall in love. Spencer never really loved his job and wanted to always live a normal life but somehow never found a way to do it. With Jen in his life, he decides to give up on his career and start everything all over again. However, he decides to keep his past a secret and never tells Jen about who he was and what he did. We all know that karma is a bitch and karma comes back to haunt Spencer when he is re-contacted to undertake an assignment. When he refuses, all hell breaks lose. I personally don’t like Katherine Heigl or the kind of movies she takes up. It’s a typical Romantic-Comedy movie with an addition of explosive James Bond type action. Yes, action fans might enjoy watching Kutcher blow up stuff and kill people but Heigl is a little too annoying, she was probably just being herself. Somewhere the movie reminds you of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, which is not exactly a good thing. Not the best movie to watch but probably something to see on a Sunday afternoon if you don’t want to put your head into it.
Thumbs up: Probably some action sequences
Thumbs down: Very annoying Heigl and her bad acting
